Mrs. Mary Henrietta Fortescue

The colours that Reynolds used were cool and his brushwork was smooth with no paint clutter on the surface.  

The proportions and symmetry of the painting look a bit faulty, which is unusual for Reynolds.

Could it be that this isn’t a bonafide Reynolds?
